I have a promise to fulfill, to write a review for the delivery of a replacement display for the Sony MZ-RH10 minidisc player. I last used the minidisc in question about ten years ago to transfer audio to a computer. I also often used the minidisc as an audio recorder for what was then analog photography. The display seemed fine until I recently took the minidisc player out again. There seemed to be no sign of life, except when operating the device using the buttons. I'm incredibly grateful that I was able to reorder a display from Lectronz. It's truly a miracle that someone took the trouble and undoubtedly invested a lot of time to offer a ready-made solution. Anyone experiencing the same problem with their MZ-RH10 and wanting to restore the display to working order can find it here. However, you'll have to wait for your turn, and replacing the display is no easy task. While the YouTube manual will certainly help you get started, there's no room for error. Good preparation is essential to know what you're getting into. You don't do this casually, and it would be a real pitty to lose such a precious little thing. Besides the standard tools, curved tweezers are handy for grabbing screws, filler rubbers, and so on. A scalpel is also helpful. Keep in mind that the material of your MiniDisc is extremely thin. Don't force anything. If you feel the urge, put the project aside and do something else. I've done well and am using my MiniDisc just like I used to. Sony really put a lot of effort into making a good audio recorder back then. I have no desire to buy another device for the same function and wait to see how long it stays up to date. MiniDiscs from 30 years ago can still be played.

Sony MZ RH1 & MZ M200 HI MD - New OLED Display panels

Sir68K is extremely knowledgeable, we are fortunate to have him as a developer. Sir68K has developed an awesome replacement OLED display module for the Sony Hi MD portables listed. If you are patient, take your time and follow the pictures and video this is a very doable repair. If you have trouble separating the old display modules from the black plastic frame, I found it helpful to scrape out some of the old white glue adhesive with a pointed tip tweezers or small metal pick. I find the new OLED panels to be very bright and sharp. A huge improvement from the original displays. THANK YOU Sir68K !
