RH1 display.
The part is great and you couldn’t ask for more. It is however hard to install … that is more to do with the Sony design than the part itself !! It only it came already in a new plastic frame but I understand why it doesn’t. All in all thank you for the hard work and design I’m amazed by it.

A real gem
I appreciate the replacement display modules tremendously. After replacing displays in all three of my Sony MZ-RH1 I can confirm the quality is superb and there were no issues whatsoever. I am, among others, waiting impatiently for the results of Sir68k’s work on the custom firmware for our belowed Sony Walkmans. 🤞🤞🤞

Il prodotto si presenta bene (ben costruito dal punto di vista della solidità e lavorazione) ma non è cosa semplice da installare: da un lato perché le plastiche del walkman ormai cominciano a degradare e non era un ben ingegnerizzato progetto di miniaturizzazione per quanto riguarda la tenuta e dall'altro perché la miniaturizzazione è così spinta che rende il tutto di non facile approccio. I caratteri sul display sono più piccoli ma la luminosità è buona. Nulla posso anticipare sull'affidabilità del tutto (non so quanto durerà dopo questa modifica). Ad ogni modo non c'erano alternative anzi ritengo questa possibilità un vero colpo di fortuna. I miei ringraziamenti alla persona che ha sviluppato questo display.

I have a promise to fulfill, to write a review for the delivery of a replacement display for the Sony MZ-RH10 minidisc player. I last used the minidisc in question about ten years ago to transfer audio to a computer. I also often used the minidisc as an audio recorder for what was then analog photography. The display seemed fine until I recently took the minidisc player out again. There seemed to be no sign of life, except when operating the device using the buttons. I'm incredibly grateful that I was able to reorder a display from Lectronz. It's truly a miracle that someone took the trouble and undoubtedly invested a lot of time to offer a ready-made solution. Anyone experiencing the same problem with their MZ-RH10 and wanting to restore the display to working order can find it here. However, you'll have to wait for your turn, and replacing the display is no easy task. While the YouTube manual will certainly help you get started, there's no room for error. Good preparation is essential to know what you're getting into. You don't do this casually, and it would be a real pitty to lose such a precious little thing. Besides the standard tools, curved tweezers are handy for grabbing screws, filler rubbers, and so on. A scalpel is also helpful. Keep in mind that the material of your MiniDisc is extremely thin. Don't force anything. If you feel the urge, put the project aside and do something else. I've done well and am using my MiniDisc just like I used to. Sony really put a lot of effort into making a good audio recorder back then. I have no desire to buy another device for the same function and wait to see how long it stays up to date. MiniDiscs from 30 years ago can still be played.
