This part replaces the long obsolete U264B, U664B 1/64 prescaler ICs used in both Beomaster 6000 and 8000. The replacement is NOT an U264B but is 100% equivalent, modern replacement (original IC shown for reference)

Part replaces original B&O spare part no 8340220

Both the Beomaster 6000 and 8000 relies on the prescaler IC for the FM frequency counter circuit.

If the prescaler IC is defective, the Beomaster 6000 will usually display 74.8MHz constantly. The Beomaster 8000 will have varying symptoms, eg. frequency readout flickering or stuck at a specific frequency.
