This is a kit to make a Parallel Port Interface for the RC2014. It uses the 82C55 Programmable Peripheral Interface
I designed this because I wanted to scratch the itch of whether I could get a parallel port printer working with RC2014. It started off as an adaptor card for MG012, but I struggled to design one I was happy with. I decided that making a whole new card was better solution.
A PCB and all components required are included, including sockets for all ICs . A PDF with full instructions is available at the link below.
Please note that the peripheral (E.G. printer) and connecting cable are not included in this kit.
I can't guarantee that MG014 will work with any and every parallel port printer (or for that matter, other parallel port peripherals). Please read the section "How can I tell if a printer will work?" in the instructions for guidance as to what is likely to play nicely.
MG014 has been designed for RC2014 with reference to the RC2014 Module Template. All pinouts used and the physical outline are in compliance with the RC2014 Module Template.
RC2014 is a trademark of RFC2795 Ltd.
MG014 has been designed for hobbyist use only and is not to be used for safety or business critical applications. The kit assumes basic through-hole soldering skills.
The payment of any import taxes and duties will be the responsibility of the Buyer.
