What It Is

Control_Panel is a compact package consisting of a start switch and super bright status indicator light. It is intended to simplify the installation of a remotely mounted user interface for use with CircuitFlyer inspired active/governor timer systems.

The electrical components are attached to a printed circuit board for easy mounting on the fuselage surface.

Note: There are two versions avaialble depending on the type of construction of your airplane fuselage.

For full fuselage model airplanes, the Control_Panel mounts on the inside with the pushbutton switch and LED protruding through two small holes in the fuselage wall for a clean exterior appearance.

For profile fuselage model airplanes, the Control_Panel is made with shorter style components and the PCB is mounting on the exterior side of fuselage.

The installation kit also includes appropriate connectors and wires to join the Contol_Panel to the timer. Soldering skills will be required to splice the wires together at the custom length necessary for your installation.

Alternative Applications

Control_Panel is not limited to use with a control line timer. It is a simple microcontroller interface that can be used with any project that calls for a normaly open momentary contact pushbutton pull down switch and a bright multicolour addressable smart LED. Sometimes called a NeoPixel, APA-106, WS2811 or WS2812 LED.

The Control_Panel only requires 4 connections: +5v, GND plus (2) GPIO pins.

Hidden Option

Contact me if you would like a custom version assembled without a push-button switch. This option allows using an exposed copper pad on the PCB as a capacitive touch sensor/switch in lieu of the mechanical switch.
