The Stubborn Balance is a rugged, industrial-grade Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) HAT specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi. Instead of relying on traditional lithium batteries, it features advanced Hybrid Supercapacitor (HSC) technology. Available in high-capacity 850F and 1100F configurations, it mounts directly onto your Pi to provide instant backup power, ensuring your system survives brief power dips or has plenty of time (up to 41 minutes idle) to execute a safe, graceful shutdown without risking SD card corruption.

Why did you make it?

We made it because standard battery-based UPS solutions are consistently the "weakest link" in edge computing. Standard Li-Po batteries degrade rapidly in heat, swell over time, and require constant maintenance—often failing right when you need them most. We wanted to build a "set-and-forget" power shield tailored for harsh, 24/7 industrial environments. The Balance was engineered to eliminate battery maintenance altogether, offering a rugged solution that matches the actual decade-long lifespan of your single-board hardware.

What makes it special?

The Hybrid Advantage: By combining the rapid charging and safety of a capacitor with the high energy density of a battery, it delivers a massive 20,000 to 50,000 charge cycles without the risk of thermal runaway, swelling, or fire.

Zero-Maintenance Hardware Control: It features pure hardware-only control with near-zero energy loss (offline topology). There are no complex jumpers or firmware setups—it works immediately out of the box.

Anti-Stuck Power Cycling: It completely eliminates dreaded "zombie states" and infinite boot loops. If your main power drops and returns mid-shutdown, the hardware forces a full power cycle to guarantee a clean reboot.

Clean GPIO Interfacing: Rather than overloading a crowded I2C bus, it uses just 3 dedicated GPIO pins for clean, reliable signaling, while its stackable 40-pin header ensures you still have full access to your other expansion boards.

3. EU Taxes, VAT, and Customs (IOSS)

We use Lectronz’s built-in IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop) scheme to make your import process as smooth as possible.

Orders under €150: * VAT is collected at checkout. You will see the VAT rate for your specific country applied to your total.

No "Surprise" Fees: Because we use IOSS, your package should clear customs quickly without additional handling fees or import taxes upon arrival.

Orders over €150: VAT is not collected at checkout. You will be responsible for paying VAT and any applicable customs duties to your local postal service or courier upon delivery.

Intra-EU Shipping: If this store is shipping from within the EU to another EU country, no customs duties apply, and VAT is handled according to standard EU distance selling rules.

5. Returns & Damaged Goods

14-Day Right of Withdrawal: As per EU law, you have 14 days to return your order for any reason, provided it is in its original condition.

Damaged Items: If your hardware arrives damaged, please take photos of the packaging and the product immediately and contact us through the Lectronz messaging system. We will arrange a replacement or refund.
